HISTORY:
Named after Owain Glyndwr the great Welsh hero who had strong connections with Corwen, this is probably one of the oldest hotel buildings in Wales dating back to 1329.
The hotel was originally a monastery in the grounds of the church and later became a coaching inn. An extension was built in 1789 to house the FIRST Welsh Eisteddfod. Today, it still retains that old world charm, oak beamed ceilings, panelled walls, antique saddlery and brassware, yet has all the modern amenities of a first class hotel.
HAUNTINGS:
After a disastrous forbidden relationship with a monk, this woman died of a broken heart and has since been reported within the hotel.
